Security-Preparedness Webinar Series from FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and FEMA are inviting faith-based, community and non-profit organizations to participate in one of their upcoming Non-profit Security Grant Program webinars.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Grant Programs Directorate, in partnership with the DHS Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives, invites faith-based, community, and non-profit partners to participate in one of the upcoming webinars regarding the Non-profit Security Grant Program (NSGP).
If you are looking for a way to fund increased security measures for your congregation, this series may provide way to access financial resources.
The NSGP provides funding support for physical security enhancements to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of terrorist attack. The program seeks to integrate the preparedness activities of nonprofit organizations that are at high risk with broader state, local, tribal and territorial (SLTT) preparedness efforts. The NSGP also promotes coordination and collaboration in emergency preparedness activities among public and private community representatives as well as SLTT government agencies.
Each webinar will present similar content, that will include
an overview of the NSGP
information on grant program eligibility
a question and answer session
(Note: the February 20th webinar will focus on other DHS and FEMA resources for the faith community, including but not limited to NSGP.)
In 2020 NSGP is providing $90 million in funding support to non-profit organizations for security related activities. For program information, visit https://www.fema.gov/grants.
